Even on the move, people need grpahics performance these days. How else are we to play HL2 on the road? Beyond3D are checking out ATI's Mobility Radeon X700 today.
Taking on the mid-range mobile sector, the Mobility Radeon X700 is one such example where notebook and desktop models have the same graphics processor – the RV410. This chip has all the functions and features of the model that spawned it (R423) but its capabilities are reduced by having only 2 pixel quads (8 pipelines) and a 128-bit memory bus. Whilst Mobility Radeon X700's specifications partially meet those of last years high end desktop replacement systems the X700 is being targeted towards mid-range down to thin-and-light solutions.
