Where would we be without accessories? Mobile phones, coats for dogs, and now more accessories for your Shuttle XPC. Of course, Shuttle's latest kit is far more useful than a pooch-warmer.
First, we have a new wireless networking kit for P and i chassis, the PN18. Think 802.11b/g; think WEP/WPA encryption; think tool-less installation. A wirelessly enabled Shuttle could make a superb media center PC, especially one of the sexy black versions.
Space inside a Shuttle, or any SFF PC for that matter, is at a premium. Yes, we've seen watercooling squeezed in an XPC by clever modding folk and also four disk RAID arrays. However, for most, that's a tall order. Seeking to overcome the space issue is the new PE20 "Xtended Storage Enclosure". It's a USB2.0 5.25"/3.5" drive enclosure for whatever tickles your fancy. On the down side, if you get one of these your Shuttle system takes up a bit more space with another item sat on top of or next to it. However, it's one less hot device inside the system and no doubt easier than getting your dremmel out.
See Shuttle's press release for more info on these products, and let us know whether you think these new accessories are hot or not!
