Valve lets off steam for Sin Episodes

From the front page of HEXUS.gaming :
Sin Episodes, the sequel to Ritual Entertainment’s much vaunted FPS is on the way and coming to your PC down the wire through Steam. If proof were ever needed that time heals all wounds, Valve and Ritual, once arguably rivals with Sin and Half Life, have now teamed up for online delivery of Sin Episodes....

...What is really making Sin Episodes unique is that, given the association with Valve and as the name suggests, it will be delivered in episodes via Valve’s Steam content delivery system. The plan is that an episode will be released every three to four months at a cost of roughly US$20 per episode. Just how much content is in each episode is unclear at this time but what is known is that players actions in previous episodes will have an impact in what they see in the next.

Sin was a pretty good game, the helicopter part was fun. Good news. Hopefully Steam won't ground to a halt...

Sin totally ruled, it wasn't better than half life, but it was great fun (after patching the horribly broken original version).

Excellent to see it's back again.

    Still no Duke Nukem though...

The thing about Duke Nukem Forever is that it will be on the vaporware list FOREVER

Valve could just finish CS:S off first instead of leaving it unfinished...

In ways the original Sin was superior to HL, it was the first game that you had quasi realistic hacking\interaction with computers to open doors, get key codes, change gun turret allegiances (lol you actually had to type in dir when the little in game computer console appear *WOW*) also the main character was just cool with nice melee and phrases ie my fave "im gonna make you my bi$%h" throw in the lovely Elexis Sinclair and it always gonna be a crowd pleaser.

Strangely enough when i played FarCry it felt alot like Sin, both games have jungle areas, both have vehicles, both games cover the issue of a mad scientist, both games have hired mercs and both games have (poorly designed) mutants. I always wondered what ever happened to the franchise and am pleased to hear it being rekindled.

One thing that is annoying me though is the price for each episode, especially when you consider how much money they are saving without having to pay publishers, with out having to get designers to create box art manuals etc also cutting out all the man hours and power it takes to create, deliver and retail each game. All in all it should be cheaper than say £15 per episode, after all its not even a full games. Other obvious issues would be the reliability of Steam....the less said about that the better.
