Yeah, but the first mirror wouldn't load for me clicked the "download now" and it didn't go.

Mirror two is fine.

Will have to leave it for tonight cos I'm going for Bf2

Just played it.

I do like the graphics and the ideas behind it. BUT:

1) The lip sync is ATROCIOUS looks like a badly dubbed chinese martial arts movie!

2) You get a head shot, don't damage any of the body armor, but can't pick it up to repair yours

3) You can't pick up ammo

4) How the hell do you use the shield? Can't find an option for it!

Dougal, take a read of the HEXUS.gaming preview... it'll answer a lot of your questions.

but here's a few answers for you:

1) Yep, still work in progress... don't forget a demo build will be quite old code...

2) Nope, you can't. The idea is to BUY armour to replace damaged stuff... you get extra cash for headshots and enviroment kills... (try blowing up barrels and taking guys out that way)

3) No, you can't. Same idea as the armour... you have to BUY it! Check out the re-arm/repair points, hit 'enter' to use them, all will be revealed!

4) The shield is used automatically when you have a side arm equipped and switch to the alternate fire, iirc... It only works with the small weapons like the single handed shotgun and pistols.

There's NO health in each level either... that's why controlling your cash and buying armour is so important... you can't heal within a level.

I know about the health and upgrade points, its just annoying in the middle of a firefight that you have to run to a point 10secs away and rearm.

And although the shield is there, alt function doesnt bring it forward, it only works if I turn side on and makes it impossible to fire at people.


At least its better then the Starship Troopers Demo.

Just grabbed the demo too.... Well, its ok I guess. Kind of a let down, I was expecting something a little more, well, exciting I guess. The game play is ok its just not that satisfying totaling the bad guys. Comparing it to the likes of the FEAR demo its no where in sight.

Dougal - 100% agree with you on that one! The Starship troopers demo was v. poor!

It kinda feels weird too that the sound is odd, I can hear my breathing over the weapon sounds.

Just played the 2nd mission (with the mech suit )

This is my problem:

left me engineer at the bottom of the tower hill

went up in me mech suit

trampled on ppl and stuff

then i hear "its my turn"

expect to see the engineer come up cos its a cut scene

he ain't moving
i can hear myself fire und stuff so I reload from my save point and goto the bottom of the hill can do what i want and he doesn;t do anything doesn't respond to anycommands

Anyone else?

Just completed it.

The first mission was a bit short and the 2nd bloke you have to kill is damn annoying on the 2nd mission. Couldn't crush him!

I just hope they sort the manual/lipsync out and wonder if there is a bug with the enginneer as sometimes I couldn't contact him.
