Where will all the OLEDs go? Into MP3 players, that's where.
Handset sub displays currently account for half of all OLED panels shipped worldwide, while MP3 players account for 45%. Car-use display applications are a distant third, accounting for only 3% of overall shipments.

The global MP3 player market is rapidly growing and it is expected to grow to 90 million units in 2006, up from 37 million last year and 58 million this year.

OLED panels for MP3 players have evolved from monochrome to 65,000-color panels, as makers have been advancing their OLED features due to heated competition in the MP3 player market.
