    Reuters to connect IM system to MSN Messenger

    Hats off to Tony at The Inquirer, who is working on a Sunday. Oh wait, so am I!
    A secure system for linking together Reuters Messaging system with Microsoft's MSN Messenger IM system is expected to be announced by Reuters this coming Monday the 21st, according to The Business.

    The offering will have two advantages: - firstly it will make use of 'Presence' so that users can instantly see who is available to chat online. Secondly – an important feature for financial markets – it is expected to provide a full audit trail so that IM messages will be recorded.

    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Let me get you a medal, and I'll send my team of worshipping butt monkeys round to your house

    AKA "Your Status" (Online, Busy, Appear Offline)...like has been in MSN since pretty much the beginning of time. Or am I missing something here?

    Secondly – an important feature for financial markets – it is expected to provide a full audit trail so that IM messages will be recorded.
    AKA Message logging, also been a part of MSN for longer than I care to remember.

    A big question mark hangs over what smartphone users will do.
    Will they not just do whateveryone does now, and use either a java app of your IM client, or used a webbased IM system?
