The folks over at Corsair have put together an article on the process of building a PC system - from getting the components together, right through to overclocking. It'll either prove useful if you've never done it before, or interesting if you have. This isn’t going to be a “state of the art” system with liquid nitrogen and car batteries that requires protective eyewear and a good knowledge of spot welding and theoretical chemistry to build. This is something anybody can do with a little bit of patience and some basic knowledge.
