A no fuss system is always going to more expensive than a DIY alternative.
Hrmm - is it worth switching over from an XP-120 with a panaflo fan tho?
I do hope Hexus will tell me the answer?
Anyone know when these things will be available in the UK? £100 seems tempting if it can improve on a high spec air setup. Might coax my opty 146 from 2.8 - 3gig
It won't do, opterons will perform the same at pretty much any temperature above ambient. Its the silicon that limits you so unless you go for tec or phase cooling it is a waste of money.Originally Posted by douthers
The only real way you get value for money from water cooling is the silence aspect. Performance wise, especially in modern games, the extra 50mhz or so you'll gain will mean virtually nothing.
Does that mean that my Opty will perform similarly with either a stock heatsink and fan, my G Power Pro unit or standard water cooling?Originally Posted by Dark Horse
