    Comprehensive computer construction with Corsair

    Some of you may have discovered this gem already, but for those of you who haven't, and haven't built a PC before, pay attention. Corsair has produced a guide to PC construction from the very start and covered everything from case preparation through to tweaking and overclocking.
    This isn’t going to be a “state of the art” system with liquid nitrogen and car batteries that requires protective eyewear and a good knowledge of spot welding and theoretical chemistry to build. This is something anybody can do with a little bit of patience and some basic knowledge.

    Got any PC building tips of your own? Post them here, we'd love to hear them!
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Ah yes I got refered to that article by someone to help me with my upcoming first build. It's really useful, it's not just a general plug it in and it works, it's got some good advice on setting up an nForce 4 motherboard and some OC'ing advice.

    Well the parts for my build in 'my system' list are almost all here so it's almost time for me to get building. I'll post any tricks I find help make life easier.

    My tip for connecting a floppy drive (I have cheap one where you con connect the power and data cable the wrong way round):
    Make sure the red of the power and data cables are next to each other but looking at the floppy drive they picture the power and data connections are not next to each other bang goes my tip.

    Nice step through guide, but if a novice was to buy and build that system how long would it last? The Asus A8N-SLi Premium has a heat pipe and it upside-down ... I'm sure this is a no no

    I do like the tip they show for fan cables here (near the botton of the page) if you cannot tie it down you can stop it dangling on to another component.
