Computer shuts down automatically from "Computer will shut down in 1 Minute" error!

I have no idea what is going on! But I just put in a new 60gb hard drive and 2 256mb corsair mem. I put on winxp and everytime my computer starts, after awhile it will give me this stupid error stating my computer will shut down in 1 minute! The worst part is, is that it counts down!!! Gosh I hate that! Anyone have a solution?

I had that happen to me when i did a fresh install when blaster was quite new to the world. (Actually that was the first time I heard of it!) Unfortunately I didn't have the patch handy at the time, and i couldn't even download it coz the pc would shutdown after a minute! It happened so early on in the setup, I didn't have anything other than Windows installed! Was quite fustrating! That was the last time i did a fresh install and set up the Internet connection first!

To save you time my friend:

    http://securityresponse.symantec.com...r/FixBlast.exe

That one will kill any process running...

    Then install this

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

I recently did a win xp installation for a friend, I installed the MS fix but never rebooted. I then set up his internet connection and AVG (which I had previously installed) reported I had the teekids.exe virus within just 4 minutes of going on the net.

    Scary stuff...

Oh yeah and if you have a direct connection to the net ie internal/external modem and no router, d/l and install zonealarm. That should keep you covered
