    just got it, a quick question for certain character's specials (eg Guile's) where for example it tell s you to do the sonic boom to do:

    <- Charge -> + p

    basically what does 'charge' mean and also when do I need to press the punch button (sorry for the lame question but I never really played SF2 that much when I was younger - had an amiga only)

    I'm totally guessing too but I figure charge means holding a button down. So possibly hold back for 2 seconds, then forward and punch.

    It means back for 2 seconds then forward and punch, yeah. So Guiles Sonic Boom, Blankers Cannon Ball Spin etc are all done that way.

    yep, charge means hold direction for 2 seconds then push opposite direction (usually) and attack button.

    Downloaded, but after playing on the snes I'm finding the 360 pad just a little too loose to pull off the special moves I want.

    When I used to play on the snes/arcade (with Guile for example) I'd hold diagonally down/back to charge in preperation for either the Sonic Boom (push forward and Punch) or the flashkick (push up and kick) as this would result in my character charging in 2 directions so I could select which special I wanted at the last minute.
    But with the 360 pad when I charge like this and I go to a move it usually results in me either throwing a punch instead of a boom or worse just jumping into an oncoming fireball.

    I've played 2 ranked online matches so far, won the first (2-1), won the first match of the 2nd (opponent disconnected 2nd round).

    edit: hey menthel, I'm useless too (I win by luck more than skill)

    I get to third round on default settings. I've got to complete it on default someday, or I'll never get the achievement!

    Although I find it incredibly difficult, I think I prefer it. Had it been the same difficulty as the version on my SNES I'd have completed the game within the hour by button bashing.

    At least this will take me some time and effort.
