I just hate things like this. Perhaps the guy was armed, I don't know, but it's still a tragic story.

what a surprise from the Land of the free-to-shoot-guns
that is awful, surely they have to have some proper evidence to act on to go around shooting people?
but as he was only a student living with his room mates that would have been awful for them. i dont know what the lad was like, or the actual motion of the incident (or how the whole thing played out) but still there is going to be a lot of uproar from the local residents.

It may be a tragic story, or it may be some student that terrorised the Community college the whole time he was there.
After all, he was accused both of the armed robbery to get those consoles, and of assault of another student in a different incident.
If he is the kind of person that these incidents siggest, then i'd say the only tragedy is that his dog was also killed.
Note I am not saying he deserved to die if he was guilty - far from it, but simply that if he is guilty of those, I dont think him being shot dead is a tragedy

Why is anyone so shocked?
Violent criminal shot by police... He probably pulled a knife or gun.
USA USA USA!

Sure, in the UK we have less violent crime per capita, but that's more to do with our society, particularly our welfare state. Violent criminals are going to be violent criminals regardless of if they can get a firearm or only a knife.
The interesting thing is that since 'Shall issue' concealed carry laws started being passed in the US, crimes of violence against people dropped and crimes against property increased. 'More guns, Less Crime'. This shows that criminals are changing the types of crime that are being committed. Many US states (some still restrict firearms ownership) now have very sensible firearms laws which allow law-abiding citizens to protect themselves. Unlike in the UK, where we must either wait an hour for the police or face prosecution for trying to defend our home.
I live in the USA. I own a gun.
probly deserved it
Typical American police. Shoot first ask questions later. It says there were guns found in the room but none were used? so why shoot him? and why shoot the dog?
Why did they have to kill his dog too?
Even worse when the other week, they shot a guy when they had supposed intelligence that he had a gun. Turns out, he was driving back from a stag night, was due to get married the next day
