    HEXUS.gaming :: Hands-on Preview - Lost Planet: Extreme Condition - Xbox 360

    Lost Planet uses advanced light sourcing to ensure a realistic presentation that enhances every explosion, smoke and particle effect. Enormous world maps unfold as players battle hostile creatures in blistering weather conditions across vast snow fields and deserted cities either on foot or in armed Vital Suits.

    Check out the Preview for more info.

    Looks rather nice, though the image thumbnail preview on the last page is a little small (missed out an "l")

    ><

    Nice read...might have to pick this up. Is there a demo out for it?

    Yeah, it's a multiplayer demo. Not that great either.

    I'll have the full version tomorrow hopefully, so I'll write something up on the multiplayer, I wasn't impressed with the demo.

    The single player campaign is well worth a look, although I've only played 5 levels which I did get through very quickly, so it will be interesting to see whether the single player campaign is too short.

    Hopefully the multiplayer has been changed since the demo because there were so many bugs (no pun intended).

    Well it'll be interesting to hear on the longevity and multi-player front as it looks quite nice graphically and sounds like a blast to play

    There should still be the single player e3 demo knocking around on live. The multiplayer demo is more recent. Having played the first demo, the graphics were nice but the controls were not so good and it was too repetitive. That said it was only the demo so i'l reserve judgement.

    There is the E3 single player and the MP demo on XBL. I honestly didn't try the SP demo, but I thought the MP demo was fantastic and great fun - I ended up in Japanese MP games, and they were great to play with. However with balanced teams the rounds would never end, and 45mins of nuking each other with no progress either way does get a little tiring!

    There is already a review in EDGE, for those interested .

    Just been playing through another level and one thing I forgot to mention, which can be annoying especially if you're being chased by a worm the size of the eiffel tower, is that you walk too slowly. There is no option to run.

    I know what to expect and the giant bugs still scare the hell out of me.

    I quite enjoyed the single player demo from E3, haven't tried the Multiplayer one though.

    Just completed this and loved it. Plays like an old school shooter as you blast your way through loads of lesser enemies to a massive boss battle . Ai is rubbish and the plot is nonsense but take it for what it is a its a superb blast.

    lol, yeah. I ended up just skipping the cut-scenes, hadn't got a clue what they were jabbering on about.
