I wouldnt mind seeing a demo channel become available soon actually, stream game demos to my ds or my wii to try a game before I buy it

I don't know about that all the stores in Staines area continue to sell out after 24 hours of a delivery. And I'm not sure if its laugh out loud funny either.
Looking forward to the News Channel though. Assoc. Press is a good idea, more or less unbiased. I prefer the Reuters writers myself though.
Demo Channel would be ace.
NEws channel will be good for a peek although My wii is right next to my pc so bbc can be loaded up in seconds.
A demo channel would be brilliant and also Hopefully something similar to Xbox arcade with small games done by indie developers IMO that could really be where the WII comes into its own with some off the wall coding by ppl
Great news!
Mario Kart 64 is next week on VC
THey are having probs getting goldeneye.
Its either cos the james bond license is owned by activision I think and also taht rare made goldeneye and are now an MS studio
It's both of them thats the problem, it's one of the only VC games I'd get too.
So the News Channel finally arrived and a day earlier than expected. But what a great channel it is too. I must admit to holding some reservations about reading the news on the Wii. My expectations were of a web browser like news reader which would be slow and clunky like Opera.
What we have is a reader that is fast, easy to navigate and clearly readable at many levels of zoom.
In fact the use of a Globe (see Forcast) to navigate to news in different countries is IMO a fantastic idea and even more useful than expected. After reading the news for your region you just want to zoom around the globe and read the rest.
So far I find myself spending more time on Wii News than I do on the BBC.
The news from AP is wide ranging and does not have the local articles yet. I'm not sure that the channel is tunable for more local news but that would be an ideal addition in any future upgrade.
As to the question would I use it?
Yes, as I have no computer in my lounge. I already check the Weather on the Wii as I hate the Teletext system. I'm not into waiting to boot up a computer just to read the news and weather. If I power on the TV, it takes just a few moments to power up the Wii at the same time.
What's more, it's more fun reading it on the Globe.
I agree, I love the globe function on both news and weather and I use them all the time instead of waiting ages for the computer to load
