Hmm, might give it a go in that case.

BF2 was just epic, a game like that coming round the corner again would make me extremely happy... BC2 might not be it, but if it's similar then I'm up for trying it.

Maybe the hardcore variant will make it more akin to BF2. Personally i preferred playing HC on MW and found it slowed the game down quite a bit. Hopefully my copy will be here tomorrow so you guys up for some action in the coming days ?

Steven, how long was the single player campaign and what difficulty did you play it on?

I've got my copy hopefully arriving tomorrow, despatched at 8:22 this morning .
Will probably get a review up too, which should be better than the DiRT2 one, which was pretty bad.

I played it straight through. I'm clocking it between 7-8 hours. I didn't bother searching for collectibles or blowing up M-Com station. I played it on Normal.

7-8 hours on normal, that's good! It took me about 5 hours to play through MW2 on Veteran. Nowhere near enough .

What was the arsenal like? Are they similar to the guns you get in MW2? Nothing futuristic?

I'm getting it on PC.


EDIT: Anyone fancy teaming up tomorrow/Friday night? Do some slaughtering on multiplayer

I am getting it on the PC also so will write a review, no doubt Mattys will be better then mine!

The guns are all modern day guns matty, AK 47's and stuff like that. Some prototype weapons but nothing like laz0rs or ion cannos mate

Standard gun types. Tip to you - pick up everything, even if you put it down again. That way when you get weapon crates drop you can choose from any of the weapons that you've unlocked from collecting on your journey.

Do you really think you'll be able to write a review on the MP and SP of the game by tomorrow?
I probably won't have one up until Saturday or Sunday, I'll give it a proper go before I even think about it .

I will be doing an MP only review.
The game should arrive and be installed tomorrow, my clan should have a server tomorrow, I will take a special SS then and write it then, or even Friday morning before Fin turns up

I'd imagine the requirements would be pretty similar to Modern Warfare 2? I'll be able to give you a 60-second benchmark result tomorrow if you like.

well the beta i was playing constantly, and with a 3.6GHz E5200 and a 4870 512mb, at 1920x1200 on all low DX9 i gto about 50 FPS on avg, so was wondering how much the retail has added

That sounds really really bad. The graphics better be bloody good if it takes a 4870 to get 50fps on all low!

This is where I'm lost as too how it played flawlessly on the review system - the system specs don't have a 4870/GTX 260 as recommended for the lolz, i couldn't genuinely play this game in DX10 mode even at 720p and according to Gonzo the retail version is the same as the last version of the beta.
