    I don't think ATI count transistors in the way that NVIDIA do. I'd imagine R420's real transistor count is a lot closer to the 222M on NV40 than you might think.

    Each of the XT cards were hand made by Celstica [iirc] this is why there was a fluctionation in the clocks - look at the clocks of ExtremeTech, HardOCP, HEXUS, and other sites - they all vary a lot. We had to clock ours down to the real clocks

    btw, the yellow connector next to the molex is not for audio, whatever it may look like. apparently its for video input from an external jack (see Tom's Hardware Guide review).

    Well look at it this way - NVIDIA are running a lot slower, if they can (sorry when they) get the clocks up...
