    Intel 915x, 925x, LGA, DDR2, PCI-E Solutions

The fears surrounding the operation of the socket itself are unfounded, at least in this reviewers eyes, my cack-handed penchant for mishandling hardware not troubling the new socket one bit.

Looking forward, a drop in DDR-II prices and mass market retail availability of PCI Express graphics cards, alongside their AGP counterparts, may sway some people towards the delights an ICH6-equipped board will hold. Until then, if I were you, I'd be looking to stick with what I've got.

A good read, and a fine effort to get such a good article together given the time contraints you've obviously had.

When are those Maxtor disks going to be widely available?

Yea excellent review, huge amounts of the latest hardware featured there. Tell me whats your address and dates / times you out of the house ? No particular reason....

I am looking forward to the follow up reviews and the in depth look at PCI-E and some overclocking / FSB results. Be interesting to see how far the FSB can be taken with the new bus / PCI-E / lots of SATA ports etc.

Ouch- too much for me though. I don't need a lot of space TBH, just speed. The 2nd rev. 36Gb raptor supports command queueing doesn't it? Just gotta wait for an AMD-compatible southbridge that supports it now.
