AOpen Aeolus GeForce 6800 GT 256MB

You have two choices when evaluating which next-generation card to purchase. Firstly, given a budget of around £300, you must choose between ATI's Radeon X800 PRO and NVIDIA's GeForce 6800 GT. The bottom line is that you cannot make a bad choice; both cards are excellent performers. Secondly, should you wish to go with a GeForce 6800 GT you need to decide which partner's card is best. AOpen makes a strong case. Its cards are backed up by a 2-year warranty, are priced attractively in relation to others, and include a couple of retail games, too.

Hehe . I don't know if I was being sarcastic or plain tired. It would cost you around £4000 to get one delivered tomorrow

Question Two types of GT card...

Just a point. There seems to be two types of Aopen 6800GT. One like an OEM card the other like a retail card - see Aopen's site. Specifically, one has the mermaid sticker and two missing capacitors as in the Hexus' review. The other has the grey sticker with the three faces, an Aopen logo and two extra capacitors on the right side. I assume that the latter is an improvement, ie they've had more time to sort out the design and packaging.

What difference do the extra capacitors make to the card's performance?
