To each their own and there are good reasons for choosing either brand.
AMD currently has the overall performance/price on everything and intel still has the low latency/IPC on their side.
depending on the application used one could argue for either brand or CPU.
Overall though I'd say the TR2950X is the sweet spot for the HEDT lineup giving you close to 7980XE in many applications while still doing well enough in the worst case scenario's and this is all at less than half the price as well.

These reviews still seem incomplete until the 2920x is included - it looks like a better price\cores ratio by far.
Plus it would be nice to see some sort of Ryzen PC vs. Azure VM test. I'm inclined to think that Ryzen 3 \ i3 "terminal" onto a highly scaleable cloud environment might be the better workstation approach.
