Let's not forget this CPU isn't designed for gamers anyway. Maybe a workstation with some gaming on the side would be a realistic use case but the majority of Threadripper users probably couldn't care less about gaming frame rates. And the vast majority of gamers will buy a 4 - 8 core chip and spend the savings on their GPU or peripherals.
