I'm looking at the 8800 GTS range as a DX10 'filler' until we see what happens over the next 6 months to a year to allow the dust to settle over the NV/ATI DX10 landscape.
Looking at the current price for the XFX 8800 GTS XXX 320MB version of only £225.46 compared to the reference based ASUS 640MB at £242.47 I think it's safe to say that the outcome of the article would be very favourable for the smaller memory card given that it's retail price is that much lower than the £285 assumed price at time of reviewing.
£225 for a 640MB 8800 GTS beating DX10 card that when overclocked comes within 11% of a stock 8800GTX fps score at a mere 62% of the cost? If Monday wasn't the 14th I'd have already placed an order!
Maybe a slight tweak to the conclusion of the review would better reflect the (current) true state of affairs!
