Hexus Social

We are delighted to open a new sub forum for all things social. HEXUS members had a long tradition of organising real world events where community members could meet up in RL to share a beer, and or a meal, or visit places of techy interest. There were also HEXUS LAN parties in the past!

This will be the forum where events are coordinated by Tiggerai (who will also moderate it) but - they can be organised by anyone!

The custom was that anyone who attended 3 social events was regarded as a HEXUS.social member and was given a green user title - so now you know who the most sociable members are!

with my rig, I'd be dead before I'd spawned. Over and over again. When I bought it it ran all the latest titles. BF2, Quake 3, C&C RA2, I even got this new game called Crysis, but not everyone could run it. Be sure to check before you buy a graphics card it can handle it etc etc. Now sadly it's just a bit, well, off the pace if you know what I mean.

I'm thinking maybe a monthly game night I know people in the office would be up for it as we've talked about an office lan party before. OK quick question before I look into this. What games would you guys like IF I can get a officalish game night going?

Yup we had a LAN team, H3XU5, which attended the Game On LANs at Uttoxeter, they're just in the process of trying to find another venue so we can get them up and running again.

Sounds silly, but anything different / fun as well as the norms as such as CS:GO / GRID and other such titles

hello, sounds like I might need to budget in some PC improvements....

I have to be honest I still find Quake 3 to be one of the smoothest multiplayers in mass matches. Unreal Tournament also fares quite well. And they're good levellers because anyone can run them. Old Skool I grant you, but still fun.

Something like CS:GO,Overwatch,Planetside2,Chivalry,TF2,L4D,L4D2,Natural Selection 2 or Serious Sam?

There are probably others I have missed,but thinking of titles which don't need uber graphics cards,and also are not too expensive if people have not got them.

GameGrin (same guys as GameOn) hold a Friday theme night most weeks that I sometimes do. They have a Discord channel so you can see what it will be or make a suggestion.

Forgotten about Paladins - overwatch is fun but looking at some recent reviews of Paladins it looks quite solid and it's free.

Also Crossout looks interesting too.
