How much do you like Olive Oil?

As a guide......how much in love with Olive oil are you?

There's all sorts of lovely olive oils, and each to his or her own..but some people don't "get" it with olive oil. Others however (this is me) get quite close to moist at the mearest taste of it

And some (also me) will drink it from small glasses

So ..where do YOU stand?

I wouldnt go as far as drinking it, but when its used by someone who can cook and is used correctly its lovely... (thinking of that gorgeous olive bread, deck cooked hmmmmmmmm)

Seconded! However, we get ours in bulk from relatives in Zakynthos who have vineyards/olive trees. Usually drive down once a year and bring a few smallish drums of it home (along with their home-made wine, and a box of freshly dried raisins)

I love it too.... just been to Italy and had an "Olive Oil Tasting" (from small glasses ), various ages, from various regions of Italy... it was ACE!!!

my dad's grove just produced it's first commercial batch last year (in NZ) - very tasty it is too.
Love it - I've got three different types for different syles of cooking - just love the flavour, but can't stand eating olives themselves for some reason!

Yes - you need engine oil for that (preferably used)

Its vital but don't use it where you don't need to. If something needs a simple frying then just use a veg oil! Also rape seed oil is really nice too...

Wow - a five year old thread revival.

Back on topic - I personally don't use any other oil in the kitchen. Made my own chilli infused stuff recently to pleasantly surprising results (I'm rubbish in the kitchen).
