Cheap Freezer junk -> Half Decent Presentable food

I experimented on Moby-Dick this weekend......seemed to work

Got a big box of very cheap chicken nugget things....you know the ones..own brand, pre formed chicken things in bread crumb....15 minutes in the oven.

Get this....frozen Ciabatta (Italian bread, crusty and about a foot long) into the oven..take about 20 mins....put chicken on over tray and get them in too.

Slice up one courgette and 1 green pepper into long thin strips....fry gently for 10 minutes in olive oil until soft and yummy.

When Ciabatta is done, slice length ways for a big sarnie....spread both sides with mayo...be generous.

Lay the chicken things on, in whatever pattern they will fit most ...put a big portion of the softened and stil warm peppers and courgettes on...drizle with olive oil, grind of pepper and salt and cos Moby like Olives...couple of those.

    Put lid on.

You'd never know you were eating pre packaged chicken, the ciabatta look posh, the vegetables stop you dying so soon

Give it a try peeps....you know you want too

Sounds like a nice bit of fusion cooking to me, everthing sounds damn fine (except for the dirty olives), will give it a go on saturday and post how it tastes...

The green ones and the lumps of garlic I could happily eat all day. I find the pinky black ones are much too squishy though.....

I ought to try and figure out how they get them so nice, then I could make them myself.
