Looking for london location to get lessons...

    Hey guys,
Can anyone recommend somewhere to get cookery lessons - basic skills, basic dishes.
For b'day pressie for my girlfriend. Will only be for one... don't expect to survive giving her the gift!

Well there's Prue Leith's Cookery School, one of the lecturers is (or was about two years ago) a girl called Lucinda Monbiot.... she was in my class at school, so Zak should remember her... not that that has ANYTHING to do with cookery, but I'm allowed to have a ramble every now and then.

Or try Westminster college, they might do evening class type things.... pretty much any college will do something like that.

Failing that, I do them!... but only use me as a last resort, I'm actually crap and I get a lackey to do all the real work.

I have often been to "Books For Cooks" in Notting Hill (opposite the famous "Travel Bookshop" of "Notting Hill" the film fame!). They run one day classes on various subjects at very reasonable prices. There is no "hands-on" practicals, but the classes are very small so there is ample opportunity to ask questions etc. All dishes are eaten for lunch afterwards!! www.booksforcooks.com

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time.... It was them that started me drinking.
