    Re: Frozen coke

To get this back on track...

-Full fat coke is evil, can't stand the film it seems to leave in your teeth
-Pepsi max is even worse, it's just disgusting
-Diet coke is OK now I'm used to it. I tried the green coke but I feel a bit queasy when I eat or drink stevia (?)
-Full fat Red Bull is amazing, sugar free is OK, the other flavours no.

Water is soooooo boring, sorry but it is, it doesn't quench my thirst at all so I tend to add a tiny splash of those concentrated diluting juices to it. And that's with our lovely "fresh from a virgin cloud" water up here over the border.

Flat whites as a source of hydration ftw!

OK back to coke...the only use for it is to remove limescale from the toilet bowl. or making pennies shiney!

but hey TheAnimus you do what ever you want Darwinism at it's best
Everything is toxic in sufficient quantity.

This is why the amounts are so important. 1mg/L is nothing to worry about. What standard do you think Nestle is working to? What amount do you think is required to impair cognitive function? Also fun fact, pure distilled water impairs cognitive function, as does eating.

I find it also bizarre, frankly to the point of a mental instability to be fixated on something like that, whilst ignoring the risks of say BPA bottles. Which are also of probably insignificant risk.

The problem is that having just a little bit of knowledge is dangerous, this is the trap you have as you don't appear to think of the externalities, the consequences of your "health" reasons for disliking tap water.

Well, it's amazing that anyone can actually manage to drink that stuff, perhaps, I'll give you that... !!
I've downed shots of tabasco that were more refreshing!!

I do find that tap water from a WW2 issue metal canteen seems to do the job far better than straight from the tap... could be psychological, though, like how canned Coke is better than all the others.

Fun tip: Using the seam around the lower portion of an empty 1.25L or 1.75L Coke bottle as a level for your squash before diluting seems to work rather well. With Vimto, I tend to go about 6ml above the seam.

Leave. Now. While you still can.
I don't mean that as a threat, I mean before you faint of weakness (or die of embarrassment) from the herbal tea!
I've never found one that tastes anything more than faintly of what it's supposed to be, except maybe a few mint ones. Some smell kinda nice, but again lacking in strength.

I used to say the same, and would still do about most supermarket stocked tisanes, but I've since discovered some rather splendid loose leaf concoctions such as this one from Sherston: http://sherstontea.com/products/goodnight/

I presume that's because your body is interpreting the sweetness as glucose/fructose and reacting by producing insulin in anticipation of the sugar hit?

    Re: Frozen coke

As a kid my friends and I used to go into town and go straight to a supermarket, grab some cans of coke, and hide them in the freezer section.
A bit later, we go back and buy them.

Glad we never forgot about them, would have been bad if one exploded and it wasn't even our freezer!

If salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? Or should that be if coke loses its sugariness can it be any good for you?

Surely that just means you shouldn't drink them after they've been boiled and cooled down? Which isn't the usual manner of drinking them

I know it's not the same effect but surely with the contents of the juice and the quantity that I drink it in. There has to be some ghastly effect going on in the stomach. Already on to my 5th bottle 600ml since 9am this morning.
