    Decent Naan bread?

I like doing a nice big homemade curry every weekend and just buy the naan breads up the street. The only thing is I can't seem to find decent ones anymore. They all seem to have turned into big doughy pizza base type things, and not proper naans. Anybody know of any supermarkets/brands that are worth eating?

Any specialist stores near you then?, i don't have the time or inclination to make my own, but if you are after good quality products there usually exists a specialist store to cater for your requirements.

Naan Bread is absolutely lovely from Waitrose, it wasn't their own brand, but i must admit, it was a very nice texture and had just about crispened enough, ooooohhhh it was nice, with minimal additives (if any).

Slightly dear, but on the back of the packet it says they are cooked 'traditionally', btw they arent any of this mass produced brand named ones, although they are packaged etc. if i get them again i will let you know!

I've got one of her books somewhere. I'll dig it out and have a look. Unfortunately the nearest Waitrose is in the next County at Otley (first time I'd been in one, thought it was quite good) and the only specialist shops around here tend to be more traditional deli's.

I have made them, and you can certainly do a better job than the supermarket stuff, but I'm not going to get a Tandoor just for Naan Bread.

Edit - Talking of MJ and books - "Madhur Jaffrey's Eastern Vegetarian Cooking" is my bible. Absolutely stunning book for a Vege! I rarely cook an Eastern Meal without one of her recipes. Thinks Like "Cauliflower and Potatoes with Fennel and Fenugreek" - real Indian peasant food.
