where is the full fat Espresso option?
I like mine thick and gloopy with 5 or 6 sugars in it, just don't let the grounds stay in the steam for too long or the coffee gets bitter.

Filter coffee, simple and good.
Cafetierre, I don't even mind cleaning the thing.
Expresso machine watered down, if it's good enough for Starbucks, it's good enough for me.
Perculator, the bubbly gurgly noises make it taste better.
I like instant, because life's too short.
I don't drink normal coffee, I like expressichino-mocha-fluff.
Personally, I'd prefer a cup of tea!

WHAT IS ESPRESSO?
But having read the Auto Express exposé of how coffee from motorway service centres contains virually no caffeine, I've taken the precaution of buying a supply of Pro-Plus tablets.

I sell coffee machines of all shapes and sizes at the place i work part time (Thomas William, Manchester) and I agree that espresso machines are definitely your best bet. Pump driven Gaggia machines start at £99.99, going all the way up to about 800 quid for the all singing all dancing automatic machines. Check out the website http://www.thomaswilliam.co.uk
We also sell cafetieres, percolators, filter machines, stove top espresso and pretty much anything else you can think of.
Damn straight! perfect start to a weekend.Originally Posted by Nick

Sorry for the spelling, I am dyslexic, although it's no excuse.
When you buy an 'Americano' or similar from starbucks, what you're buying is a shot of expresso, with added hot water. This is the nearest they do to 'a normal cup of coffee' - whatever that is.
Personally, I think that all the water in my cup should have passed through some coffee grounds, and that it tastes better when that water was at less than boiling temp. Ex- sorry espresso uses steam, hotter than boiling, which can burn the coffee on it's way through I believe.
Just an opinion mind, and everyone's entitled to their own
They told me I was gullible ... and I believed them.
Yes, your right, the Americano is just an espresso topped up with water, if you continued pouring the water through the shot it would end up tasting like crap. Espresso water is usually 92Deg c, depending on grind, beans, and roast. Much hotter than that and the coffee will burn giving it a bitter taste, its not very nice. Don't forget the espresso is the base for cappuccino and latte alongside other milky coffee drinks.
If there was a coffee God. he would probably drink espresso

Cafetiere for me (or just a simple Coffee pot and strainer). Purest way IMHO it gives a much cleaner fresher taste.
