    RAM Speeds

    Hey guys and gals

I was just having a lookat my bios and I noticed that I'm running my 4 GB of RAM at 800Mhz. Should I be running it at 1066 and will it make a difference?

    Thanks for your help!

    By the way I've a Phenom II x4 955 BE and a Gigabyte MA770-UD3 revision 2 board

    Re: RAM Speeds

    From Gigabyte
"Due to AMD AM3/ AM2+ CPU limitation, memory module of DDR2 1066 or above speed is only supported by 1 dimm per channel."

You don't really need to run at 1066 so keep it as it is.

    Re: RAM Speeds

    Thanks for the reply!

So basically it means that there isn't any benefit in running it at 1066?

    Re: RAM Speeds

Check the CAS settings for the lower speed, you should be able to tighten it over the cas settings for 1066 which would give a small boost.

Use CPU-Z to check cas settings at the different speed rateings for your memory

Also Sorry if I am being thick, but as I am running 2x 2GB of RAM, would I not be able to just place them in separate channels and run them at 1066? Would it make a difference?

    Thanks again as always.
