URGENT HELP NEEDED! How do I check compatible laptop RAM?

Just about to go ahead and buy this laptop plus 2GB of RAM to upgrade it. I'm pretty sure it takes 667mhz but is there any way of knowing for definate? If it took 800mhz would it still work just at a lower speed? Ta in advance.

It should work, its never going to be garenteed to work, till you try irt. I see no reason why it wont thought.

If the laptop is capable of 800MHz but you use 677/800 mixed it should revert the 800 back to 667 and run the lot at the same speed.

NOTE!

According to Acer the laptop is supplied with 2x1Gb sticks which will fill both slots. (http://www.acer.co.uk/acer/productv....&CRC=660424665)
You'll need to replace the RAM to upgrade it as it'll only have 2 slots.

You'll find Crucial, Kingston and Integral configurators where you can enter the model number and get the spec + possible upgrades.
Even if you don't buy theirs it will show which options are open to you.
