It's the standard that all pc memory should adhere too.
The JEDEC memory standards commity is mainly made up of the main chip manufactures if I remember correctly.

So looking at the product code and the specs...my RAM is designed to run at 1600mhz with timings of 8-8-8-24 using between 1.6 and 1.65 volts.
All of which I can set manually in the BIOS using ASUS's AI Tweaker and cause no damage to either the RAM or CPU and will mean that it all runs nice and stable.
Of course I'm perfect you just need to lower your expectations.
Yep, and if it does have XMP profiles then you should have the option to select that and it should set it for you.
