At the moment I have 2x2gigs og Geil PC6400 in my system.

look at taskman, is it running out?
My system is running ok, asked the question because i see on alot of new boards support ram up to 16gigs.
so iam unsure if more ram means better performance.
if taskmgr is indicating that you are using all your ram and you are swapping then yes you will see a boost in performance. otherwise no. are there specific tasks you are doing that are slow? or slower than you would like?
No special task, thought I asked the question as I didn't know if I would see any different to my system with ram.
Thanks for you replies Dirky
If your asking if you need to upgrade your ram as your finding thins running slow ask yourself what is my PC starting up when I boot into Windows ?
Check out whats running on startup in Msconfig and turn off whatever is not vital untill you need it. All too often I hear of people I know saying their system runs slowly.
They get me to have a look and normally 8 times out of 10 it's because they have Skype, MSN, iTunes, Webcam, yahoo messenger, google desktop etc. all starting as soon as they log into Windows.
Turn off whats starting up untill you actually need to use it and you'll see things improve.
It's something I really hate myself, hence why I only have 3 things loading up which I view as essential.
+1 to the above, I often find the same - startup lists with dozens of items you have to scroll through and research to find out what each one does and if it's safe to disable (asking the owner if it's essential usually just results in a stare).
4 items here, 3 of which are essential.
