Re: Crosshair IV Extreme - Bulldoser support questions

I can wait, I am going to wait until they stable out and until they are as good as i5, from what I have seen they are still as far back,( a tiny bit better ) as 1100T, I will wait until they are as good as the i5's, thanks a lot everybody that contributed to this post..

lol. I got the RAM as it was cheaper at the time than buying a 1600mhz kit, I got mine in red as it looks good with my ROG mobo and ATi graphics card.

The case is really good too, due to the drives being mounted between the back of the mobo and the right side of the case it means I have the sort of space you'd normally get on larger cases but in a smaller chassis plus the stack effect cooling seemed like a neat idea. I do need to take my mobo out and tidy some of the cables though, just been too lazy! I couldn't get the RV01 as a 6990 wouldn't fit in that but it has some cable management features that are better than or left out of the RV03.

    Look at this post:

    http://forums.hexus.net/2318201-post6.html

The FX8120 was mostly 125W TDP models with a few 95W ones. Now ALL FX8120 CPUs in the next few months will be 95W with the 95W FX8140 is being released soon. Hopefully given a few months more, the 125W FX8150 should be released by a higher clocked model at the same TDP and same price.

If you cannot wait, the pre-overclocked 125W FX8120 deal on OcUK is not too bad due to the cashback and free game. The cashback is £20 and the game is worth at least £10.
Just to be clear on this, as I'm not always the sharpest tool in the toolbox, does this mean Vishera is expected to be a revision on the first gen that address IPC issues on single threaded applications as well as the higher than expected to TDP?

If that's the case, then it won't have an extra pin and should still work with the Crosshair IV.

The CPU from OcUK is pre-overclocked and is not a bad deal if you include the cashback. I still suspect that unless you are benchmarking, your Athlon II X3 460 should be adquate for the time being.
Hiya the proccy is not pre-overclocked
"OcUK & AMD Guarantee that this 8120 processor will overclock to 3.60GHz reliably and safely giving you full 8150 performance without the extra cost. Your warranty remains un-affected and as such your warranty period of 3 years is still valid with both OcUK and AMD. In order to achieve 3.60GHz you will need to adjust the processors multiplier and possibly core voltage."
