which cartoons should be made into films

spider man, scooby doo, x-men, thunderbirds to name a few have been made into films.

I've been chatting through this too, what would you make into a film now.

Transformers is on the way !

Centurions - this could work now
Visionaries - this could work too
Star Fleet - would make an awesome film
terrarhawks -- Hmmmm maybe but doubtful ?
String ray ??? don't think so, but I think it was once discussed somewhere
    Ulises ?? maybe

Thundercats are on the move, Thundercats are loose. Feel the magic, hear the Roar, Thundercats are loose.

That's about all I have to say.

Sinister Dexter would make a good film or Durham Red, maybe even Maniac 5 or Nikolai Dante (Guess which comics I used to read)

I'd only like to see Freakazoid turned into a film as I can see Jim Carey as Freakazoid

Pinky and the Brain, Johnny Quest and The Centurians could also work, not sure about everything else though like The Simpsons y'all have all seen the live action intro for The Simpsons on YouTube

Personally I wouldn't want any Manga / anime to be converted into movies - maybe CGI versions like Appleseed and Final Fantasy styles. . .

Centurions is a good call. . . I wouldve said Thundercats as well, but I saw the first season not so long ago and I realised how rubbish it actually was

I second thundercats. Be interesting to see how they would tackle it as a live action flick.

They could also make Mask into a film.
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

    Okay, not strictly cartoons but:

Watchmen by Alan Moore. (looks like this one is on it's way soon)

The Incal by Moebius. I'd pick Tim Burton to direct or maybe Terry Gillam.

None of them. They were designed as cartoons in the first place, and should stay that way. Format changes in this respect have a habit of being rubbish, and ruining the format of the show.

Pirates of Dark water could be interesting.

Thundercats would need updating a bit. I've got every episode (some 130ish) and have watched through to about ep40. Episodes can end up with quite a moralistic ending which would just be too cheesy in a movie.

Dangermouse could be very good as an animated movie. The humour in it is still fantastic to watch as an adult. Very subversive and sarcastic.

Mysterious Cities of Gold should be made into a movie. Lots of material there for a fantastic epic. Maybe a series of movies could be done. The background and history in it stands up well to viewing now.
