    Draytek 2800

    Hi Guys,

I've got one of these and I am just re-planning my network setup - I am wondering if I can use it to replace my current windows 2003 server for VPN "termination"

So I can VPN to the 2800 and not need another box?

    Cheers

I want to run 2 different IP ranges

10.0.0.x which will be assigned to the Wireless Box I have which will dish out IP's via DHCP within this range. If a Wireless client wants to connect to the "internal" LAN then it needs to VPN in once connected via WiFi [This means I've a secure network on which the WiFi is isolated]

I want the Draytek to assign a different IP range if you VPN in - 192.168.1.x (thus being on the "inside" of the LAN)

This means that all PC's on the internal network are secure since you can't get on that said network without being physically plugged in to the switch.

I have a system in a data centre which VPN's in to my house and then does some backups to a system here. So I will no longer need to leave that in a DMZ or port forwarding situation (this system used to be my "old" VPN peering point)

Then I can forward a couple of ports if needed to it - for Terminal Services so I can remote connect, then other ports I can forward (independant of this) can be done for my AXIS camera.

    Thoughts?

So - I can get the VPN bit to work - then I moved to port forwarding and this didn't seem to work I stopped until I can get this fixed and moved to my old router

I had setup 3 different port forwards (to different systems) - and I couldn't get it working... ?

But my old router worked fine - so nothing wrong with the target systems.

    Help It's drivin me mental

ahhh...are you using Firefox? If so, stop. Use IE or the router wont remember the settings.

Have you checked Mikey's guides on the Draytek.co.uk website? They can be quite useful.

If not Draytek support might be of use.

I've got VPN and Port forwarding working

I need to get the secondary isolated LAN part working - basically i want a Access point to sit in the DMZ which you can connect to - but you can't access the network just the internet
