    Belkin F5D7633-4 Query

    Hi all, ive got a Belkin F5D7633-4 ADSL router, used it at my old place on my adsl conexion and works fine, however ive moved back in with the rents and they have a NTL (Virgin Media) conexion which is cable as many of u will know, someone told me that u can use adsl routers on cable conexions but ive tried everything i cant get it to work? any ideas?

    Wont work mate, an adsl router doesnt have the necessary wan dhcp client port to obtain an IP from the modem. The 4 lan ports are all dhcp server ports.

    You need a cable router.
