Speedtouch 330 modem with Macbook Pro?

    Hey anyone and everyone

Just got me a 17" macbook pro on Friday after deciding to make the jump from PC. I have an existing broadband account with wanadoo, (Orange), and the speedtouch 330 adsl modem that came with it and cannot, for the life of me, get my mac to connect thru it. Heard rumours I need an update or summat but can't find anything set in stone.

    Anyone???????

It's doing my fricking nut in!

    chancie

"NOTE: The ST-330 and ST-USB driver does not support Intel based Apple Macs. For Intel based Macs we recommend using an Ethernet modem/router."

Looks like it's time to go buy a proper router....

Bugger. Any suggestions on an ample one that doesn't break the bank? Doesn't need to be wireless, particularly.

Question ST 330 prob no more

Went to PC world and bought a zoom 125G wireless router in the end. thay had them at 1/2 price for £40. Got it home and it works fine. New question: I have parrallel for MAC so I can run windows. I have Windows XP for my PC that I purchased last year and wanna know if I'll get any probs using it on my mac. If I run it in will I be able to register it as it's already been registered on my PC? Will I be able to use it without registering it? Will I be able to run PC games on my mac with it? So many questions. So little time......

Parrallels runs Windows (and other OSes) within OSX. This means that it will suck performance wise, compared with Windows natively. You should try bootcamp.

I believe that this will depend on the license you bought. You can't legally run it on both computers, but if you've retired your PC, or switched to Linux, and you have bought a retail version of XP, I _think_ you should be OK.

Will I be able to use it without registering it?
You will, but you won't be able to get any updates via Windows update.

Will I be able to run PC games on my mac with it?
Unlikely from within Parrallels, unless they are not graphically/processor intensive. ie Football Manager + Solitaire should be OK. You will struggle with Quake 4.
