    Air con dead!

The server room air con has decided to give up so currently we are venting hot air though doors and a small window.

What I need is a portable air con unit that can cool a room aprox 15ft by 20ft

Does any one here use any mobile air con units? If so could you give me your recommendation?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I would recommend checking out Delonghi Air Conditioner. I have had two of them over the past couple of years and they have not caused any problems. Currently I use a delonghi PAC L41AH portable air conditioner (for my conservertory). Its pretty good, but I dont think its enough to cool a 15*20 foot room. Its only 10000btu, and for a 15*20 foot room, you would either need two of these, or roughly a 15000btu air conditioner.

Check out the delonghi website for air conditioners- it has some useful info-

    http://www.delonghi.co.uk/product_pr...20Conditioners

Also check out their guide to Air Conditioners, it has a useful calculator that calculates what Air Con you need depending on your room size and other factors.

I've forgotten the brand, really sorry, but Homebase, and I think they do their own brand too do a 12,000btu unit for £349.

Have one at home and it works a treat.

One more thing they larger "portable" one's (12000btu and up) are b4$t4rd heavy so don't try lifing one by yourself.

How hot did it get?, suffered something similar a few months ago, but suffering from our old kit giving out quite horribly at the moment, i've lost another machine today, (6 fans died and a mirror'd disk dying)

I glad i'm migrating domains to a new setup but its amazing how much damage the high heat did.

its very hot. The room was up in the mid 40C with out side temp at about 20C

Its a bit of a worry to be honest but there is nothing I can do until we get a new air con unit in.

Stupid MD does not understand how important it is. I mean its only a couple of hundred quid.

it looks like I am getting an entire new unit fitted next week, I have just had to prop the door open and live with it.

Not that happy with the situation at the moment.
