    Internet problems

Well, i'm having internet connection problems on one of the other computers in my house. The system is running win xp home and will not connect to the internet nor the router we have, its not the router, i know this becuase i am on another comp goign through the same router and i have another running through as well. It has to be something with the network settings or something, becuase i have pretty much ruled out the router and cale modem. What ya think?

is this a totally new computer to the wide world of networking ? (has it ever been connected to a network). If not. Logically it should be this pc's problem. Try connecting it directly to anothor pc - off of the internet as its not important. If you can setup a two pc network then the hardware is fine. Then its loads of bolloxing abooot with the xp network settings. You might have to register the router with this pc.

    Hope that helped.

Do you have NTL by chance?

If so, you'll need to go into the router's setup and clone the mac address of the last PC/Router that suceessfully connected to the net and registered with NTL. Otherwise it won't work
