Problems WIth SKY - Definitely Worth Calling Them

I had a few issues with my SKY connection recently and the Tech Support put me through to Tier 3 (top fellas).

ANyway...i was astonished how good they were.

I was on the ASDL2Max and the connection was iffy......getting around 5-6mb and 50+ ping.

The guy on the line (only UK people on Tier 3 btw) put me back to ASDL normal and ran diagnostics from there.
He slowly built up my connection to 8mb D/l and 615u/l.
Once succesful and stable, he switched me back to ASDL2Max and started from 8mb and moved up.

This call took over an hour btw and they called me so cost me nothing.

At the end, my results were:

14300 connection and 9.5 steady noise margin.

Realtime:
12.7mb D/L
695U/L
Ping <25ms

He was even telling me my ping changes as he did them and asked me to check on my screen as he rebooted my router from his end remotely.

I think this is AMAZING service and i now have a very fast BB connection for £10 a month.

Oh....and also he sent me yet another new router.......I have 2 Netgear now and 1 new Sagem VOD router from Sky.

The best way to get to Tier 3 is to tell them that your router is faulty.
Tell them it keeps dropping connection whether you hard wire it or use wireless.

They will put you through.

Not SKY in general......

But the Tier 3 support IF you can get to them is very very good.
