Need some advice re: hosting multiple rdp, type, connections over WAN

Right what I want to do is allow multiple people to access one computer through multiple accounts, connecting remotely over the internet. This will have to be on a Windows box as what I want to do is allow several people using several different accounts to access a specific program.

The reason for this is that the program that I want to allow access to wont work over WAN and is account specific.

shouldn't be a problem, (you have to make sure the application you want to use is compatible for terminal server use (some apps arn;t something to do with dll access).

setup a terminal server, install the app in question on this server.
create the multiple accounts for your users in activie directory
    grant them terminal server access.

    you will need:

    1 terminal server (hardware)
    1 windows 2003 server
    sufficient CAL's
terminal server license (for all your users connecting)

Depending on how many connection and how important their work is you may want to look at proper business grade managed internet with decent SLAs. Also if you have 10 or more RDPs at any one time you will be looking at about 1.5Mb to 2Mb upload to feed them and keep them happy.

Also watch out for licencing. MS Office needs to be licensed for every user of the terminal server even if they don't use office same goes for may applications.

Other things you will want to look at is cutting down access using GPO. If you need a hand with that I can give you info on what needs to be changed in the GPO to keeps users out of areas they should not be. TS needs to be cut down much more than standard clients.

Sorry for the delay in replying.

To outline exactly what I want to achieve:

Remote Access to a computer from people working outside the office into a specific machine.

Each of these users will need a separate account, as the software ties the account it creates to the windows account it was set-up upon.

Several people may be logged into the computer at any one time.

Bandwidth is not a problem as we have 6.5Mb/6.5Mb dl/ul.

Software wise, it's closed and proprietary, and database based, multi user access able.
