    Hosting Advice

Hey all, I've recently been screwed over for the second time by my hosting company, they decided to close my hosting account rather than cancel my domain subscriptions as i asked. (This is added to me losing my primary domain back in february cos they mucked up)

Anyway, my question is this: if you were on a budget (£20-£30/yr) and wanted to host a website with a reliable (preferably british) company, where would you go?

PS, sorry if this is in the wrong place.

www.b-one.net have been nothing but great for me. I used them for 2 years with no problems. I've got my own dedicated server now, so don't use them anymore. I know theres another hosting company that alot of hexus people use, but cant remember the name. I'm sure someone will mention them though.

I was recommended Qiq, i haven't used them yet so they might be the company that screwed you..

The company that screwed me was hosting unlimited... they lost control of my primary domain in february because they invoiced me too late, then they closed my hosting account rather than cancelling my domain registrations as requested... cant say i really want to go use them again...

Surely this is the wrong forum? This is software dev..and it's a web hosting question anyway, nothing to do with this forum......

but anyway I reccomend web-mania.co.uk - 20quid a year, reliable hosting and a decent package Been with them a few years now, no troubles.

and this is web hosting...unrelated imho but not my choice and it doesn't really matter, just figure this would be more suited to the "connectivity - broadband & networking
ADSL, cable, internet and network advice and chat" forum

There was a summary thread someone kindly posted - might want to check it out.

Be good if you could tell us how you get on as I am also investigating a cheap LAMP hosting solution.
