Networking question

I have my PS3 connected via wifi to my router and the PS3 has a static IP so it can be placed into the DMZ so I do not have to forward any ports. My PC connects to the router via 2 homeplugs. When I use IPconfig in the cmd screen I cannot ping the IP of my PS3, I am also unable to use upnp and share media. I have no software firewalls setup and because the PS3 is in the DMZ I should be able to find send it packets and receive them back but cannot. Can somebody help me out?

What is the router/firewall that you're using? It sounds like it's default state is not to allow connections between the internal and DMZ zones which may or may not be configurable.

I have a Dlink DI 524 router.

Looking at the manual the dmz setup seems rather restrictive. Have you tried just opening up all ports to the PS3's IP under the firewall rules instead? (with the DMZ option disabled)
Failing that, is there an option under the source interface in the firewall tab to specify rules for traffic to/from the DMZ or is just WAN or LAN?

Hi I was unable to fiddle with it last night and I would like to know if there is a way of forwarding more than one port at a time in the router?
I was unable to check out your second suggestion but will try later tonight.

Well looking at the manual here:

on page 27 it seems to suggest you can just put a port range and specify a specific destination IP (the static address you've assigned to your PS3)
