Most likely, it will not cost you anything more.
The reason I say most likely, is I'm not very familiar with how Pipex bills. For simply connecting up an additional computer, you will not get charged, the only thing you may have to buy is a modem/router if you haven't already got one.
The only thing you can possibly get charged extra for by Pipex is going over the usage allowance included in your package, but unless you are on the lowest package and your grandson is a heavy user, this shouldn't be a problem.
Hope that helps
Pipex won't charge extra for multiple computers.
How does your desktop machine connect to the internet? Does it use a simple USB modem (they look a bit like a large mouse) or do you have a router?
If you don't have a router, you will need to buy a 4 port device like this
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
If you have a single port router, it is still possible, you need a device called a switch which connects between the router and the desktop machine - and allows the laptop to plug into it.

Once it is set up, your grandson can just plug his laptop into it. (If he wants too connect wirelessly, you will need a wireless router - which are a little more fiddly to set up).
You will also need the correct cables to connect them, which you can buy in different lengths.

This is just one example - the web site has more, but the critical words are cat5e and rj45 patch cable.
