anyone know a cheap / hassle free place to register a new domain name? most places seem to be £3 for .co.uk and £8 for a .com
also what if any increase in traffic can i expect from a .com over a co.uk of the same name.
IE boots.com vs boots.co.uk

I've used 123reg and never had any real problems.
EDIT - about a dozen domains, over about 5 or 6 years.
Another vote for 123reg. I have about 10-15 domains registered through them and they make all control of them so easy.
Same here, 123-reg
We have around 150 domains registered with them at work - never had an issue. I use them at home too.
and another for 123-reg

123-reg for me - although I have also used NetscanUK who are good - but a tad pricy. I use them for a mail host.

123-reg is the way to go
Dont go with 123-reg!!! Scammers!!
That felt good
No seriously, 123-reg are the best. Cheap and very quick.
Lol
As a little example of the things I like about 123 reg.
I have a domain that was set to run out today. I have received emails for the past month from them letting me know so that If I wanted to cancel I could then they auto updated it for me
THen Another domain I registered a couple of weeks agao I had the domain registered and DNS sorted on it and working within the hour
i've used oneandone.co.uk in the past, they were quite reasonable but havent done a comparison of these type of sites for a while. ive never had any problems with them.
Namecheap are also very good
For .uk 123-reg are great but too expensive for com/net/org, I use name.com for those as they do free WHOIS privacy.
