glad its ok m8, hope the bro has a bruise
Hi all,
My netgear router + modem got killed due to firmware update. I had powercut when i was updating firmware. I tried resetting to factory settings by holding down reset button while power is off and on for 30 seconds. But what appear is only Red light instead of green light for POWER LED light. It looks like my router is killed now. Any other ways to recover this?
Have you tried this?

Hi,
I did try that. But router was not responding any IP address at all.
I tried all below:
192.168.1.1
192.168.0.1
10.0.0.1
routerlogin.net
routerlogin.com
But it doesn't connect to router. Any idea? It shows red light.
According to this link
http://documentation.netgear.com/dg8...34N-09-04.html
a red power light indicates a failed POST and a possible hardware failure. If you have carried out the actions described, and still can't get it to work, it's probably a repair or replace job.

Hi,
It worked now. But not with the tool, but my mozilla firefox automatically provided me option to update latest firmware. I tried with sw provided in the link, but that didn't work. Mozilla worked for me. And its running good. In fact it had red light, but now it is working very cool.
thanks for all your help.
Glad you got it fixed!
