Crossover cable
you can join 2 PC's with a Cat 5 Crossover cable, but its much easier with a hub/switch and allows for more PC's to be added.

It would work if the hub had a port designed for it. Namely an uplink port on many hubs. Otherwise you'll need to use straight UTP cable

That what i've done, you dont need a hub (not point) - cant see how it makes it easyer :S - just run a x-over cable from one NIC (network interface card) to the otherOriginally Posted by Moby-Dick
- also maplin (and other places) do a "x-over adaapter" which you can plug in to make a std cable x-over
ie
PC1 |----------stock cable------------|Xover addapter| PC2
- also i think it can but used the "uncross" an x-over cable
