Wireless N Mini PCI-E Antennas Question

I am thinking of upgrading my wireless in my Advent to a wireless N pci-e card like the Intel 5300 that has 3 antennas. I have 2 in the Advent at the moment, but what type would I need for the 3rd antenna? Would it be something like:

Or something different?

I have trawled Google but cant find a definitive answer. Is there much difference between the 2 types of antenna?

hi there !timmy!,

i recently posted on another problem page about something similar, i would suggest getting yourself an edimax wirelss card, its so easy to intall, excellent signal, and guess what, it has 3 antennas, strong signal where ever you are, no lagg, no loss.

i dont have a url at the moment, but as soon as i get one, i'll be sure to post back on here.

here you go, came across it by chance in my favourites section.... have a look at that, its quite cheap too and its free p&p....i've used 4 now, all in different pcs and not a peep out of any of the clients...3yrs and counting....

Edimax EW-7728IN / PCI Wireless N WiFi Card / 300mbps / 802.11n

search for that on scan, play, novatech and misco.

Thanks for the reply, but I didn't make it clear that I was looking for a mini pci-e card for a netbook. I ended up going for the Intel 5100 that only requires 2 antennas. I will install it soon

Can I ask where you've managed to source a 5100 from? I've been looking for a UK retailer with stock for ages now.
