    Maximum ADSL upload speeds?

    Hi,

My exchange is only equipped to ADSL Max.

I currently have an ADSL Max product from my ISP offering (upto) 8Mbit download and 448Kbit upload.

The next package up that my ISP offers is an ADSL2+ with upto 16M download and 1M upload (plus better usage). If I were to upgrade to this package, bearing in mind my exchange is not ADSL2+ enabled, would I still be able to benefit from the increased (upto 1M) upload speeds or would I likely still get 448K ? It would be worth upgrading for me if I can get faster upload speeds.

My line can only handle around 4-5M download so the increased download speeds of ADSL2+ are irrelevant to me.

They wouldn't even allow you to buy an ADSL2+ product if your exchange don't support it

the max you can get is 882kbps upload, usually an office package from someone like adsl24, like I have.

Yes, I've seen those and that's what I was hoping I might be able to get, but my ISP doesn't offer that. They said I wouldn't see any speed increases (as others said above), I'd only get the benefit of more (unlimited) usage, but still on ADSL Max.

    Thanks everyone.

ADSL packages are like that, the cheapest office package offers a small on peak amount, but unlimited off peak. ideal for me....

...similar to the package I have now - 10GB/month peak, unmetered off peak (1-6am).
