    Be* and Customer Service

I know it's been said, and O2 offer cheaper prices - but with a baby due in next few months cost is everything... sent a support ticket to Be* stating nothing wrong with service, but wanted to check contract length as need to switch to cheaper provider.

A phone call - yes not an email a phone call - back and offered discount to £12 per month for Unlimited service.

For the sake of £2 over SKY max and what I have so far experienced as superior customer service, well worth it.

note: nice chap did say it was only due to being a long standing customer (as I wouldn't want to be the source of lots of tickets asking for price reduction!).

Yea that is good to know, Onetel (long bought out by TalkTalk) offered me a 50% reduction for loyalty but it was still way way way overpriced, I changed to Be

I did the same around 7 months back and they also reduced the bill to £12 per month.

I think I'm going to call Bethere now, I pay £ 17.50 per month when the same service is offered from O2 for £ 12 :/

If you have an O2 mobile (even PAYG), switch from Be* to O2 & you will qualify for the £5 off thingy.

Thanks dude, I didnt know that

I'm cutting back like most people now, my Sky HD packages have already been reduced and the deals offered on Pay as you go make my contract a thing of the past.

All together I'm saving around £50 a month now, just by cutting stuff I don't need.

EDIT: All remains is to become a monk to reduce my council tax....

No problem mate. I've considered doing the same thing myself. But I can't really fault Be* with their awesome uncapped and unlimited service. Plus online profile changes rock too. So for now, Be* FTW. But if in the future I find myself tightening my belt. You can bet I'll buy a cheap ass O2 mobile on PAYG and move over to O2 BB

That's a long shot, but maybe you qualify for sainthood having to put up with some of the posts in the Scan care forum?

    Lucio

Being a Monk / nunn is actually an elligible reason to receive reduced council tax, I thought trying to become a nunn would be a little harder than being a Monk and my Mrs may have somethng to say about it not to mention my mates lol....

Saint does Chris has a certain ring to it....

    Re: Be* and Customer Service

I'm looking at going with Be or O2 broadband when I move into my new place this weekend. I was with Be about a year ago and they were great, but O2 is looking a lot cheaper at the moment. I've worked out that, with the O2 mobile user discount, and the massive £70 Quidco cashback they're doing till the end of the month, it'd cost me £18.08 for the entire year on 8MB, and £47.48 for (up to) 20MB. Actually comes out as a bit more than that seeing as VAT goes up this December, but even so, that's cheap! Have to wonder how they're making any money at all from that.

    Re: Be* and Customer Service

I have been with o2 broadband for the past few months, they use Be*'s network, and I can say that I have zero complaints. Customer service has so far been very good, speeds very good, no download limits that I have come across (and recently I have downloaded lots: Windows 7 RC, Server 2003 trial, Server 2008 R2 RC, various versions of Linux, an Arma2 demo and lots of other legit downloads) and I don't seem to have any restrictions put in place. I don't even think it's gone down once since it was installed!

Compare that to the previous service I was getting through Bulldog (who were bought out by Pipex) and I've never been happier!

My O2 broadband activated a couple of days ago and its been great so far. I get a solid 15mbps (1.5mb download) compared to the 6mbps I was getting with those jokers at Talk Talk.

    Re: Be* and Customer Service

I'm on Be Unlimited right now. It was a little more expensive than O2 but since it's a student house, we each pay a slice.

I guess we haven't been with them long enough yet to ask for a discount!

    Re: Be* and Customer Service

    Hey guys,
Iv got Be at my place at uni and I get minimum 22megs at all times!! Its excellent, even the customer service.
The thing is im only 400m away from the exchange (as the bird flys) but down here in londom im 1.4km away from the exchange.
I want to move from virgin to Be or O2 because virgin take this piss offering new customers with cheaper deals and not even letting the customers who ring up to get a cheaper deal change!!!
So I would love to move to Be or O2 but just concerned with my bandwidth due to exchange distance. think ill get 10MB even at 1.4km?
